Bad flooding in Cork means no lectures all next week. I'm gonna admit I'm thrilled about that. The water in my apartment is still flowing fine so I feel pretty fortunate. Just gonna enjoy my week off. |

I can't wait until I'm a registered student again so I can start back up at the gym. I really miss working out, and while I rarely weigh myself because it means nothing to me, I have a couple times this summer and the number has dropped which I take to mean I'm losing muscle. Grr! I will start getting out to the pool soon at least.
I don't recommend using cheapoair.com for travel booking; they are kinda sketch. The travel feature of that bing search engine is pretty rad, though. I have my one-way ticket for Sept 8th, exciting.
There used to be a shop around here that would buy CDs off you and resell them but it closed and now I have no where to sell my crappy old CDs. There really is no longer much market for it, I guess.
Edit-- Oh yeah I've also been home for a while and loving it :) |

A mosquito got in my room and I woke up with 21 bug bites!! But this morning I killed that well-fed motherfucker.
Today my sister and I saw Up and the new Harry Potter at the base theatre. I'm gonna miss $3 movies for sure. |

First: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question. Second: Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.
I was tagged by slangofoil
Lots of pillows or just one? Usually 2 but here 1 because they're so plump
What kind of books do you read? Fiction- mainly novels now, but I used to be mad for fantasy series
What are your most awesome skills? I can cook and bake alright. I also have a bit of a green thumb. I'm pretty strong at (academic) writing, too.
What's your occupation? Student I suppose. One year of grad school to go, then it's looking for a software programming job.
What's really creepy? There was this big group of fat, single Indian men on the cruise, and they'd all stand together and stare at the women dancing in the club or swimming in the pool. You'd be doing your then thing and turn around to this unwavering leer. It was disgusting.
What do you want to accomplish or do in the next 5 years? Graduate with my masters and find a job wherever Andy has his job, and live and work and be happy.
What flavor ice cream would you choose right now? Cherry gelatto
What websites do you always visit when you go online? gmail, livejournal, independent.ie, and facebook, though I'm fazing fbook out
What was the last thing you bought? A glass canister in France that says "THÉ" for storing my tea bags and some postcards
What's the most interesting thing you've read today? Yesterday I finished "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safron Foer and it was so good.
Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave? God, yes. Before it was Oreos, and now Tostitos with a hint of lime + salsa. Luckily they have that here at the commisary.
What do you do to change your mood? Read celeb gossip, talk to my mom
What is your zodiac sign? Capricorn
Do you want to learn another language? Spanish and French would be great but I'm terrible at languages
Five things you make you happy. Talking to or being with Andy, my dog Jackie, my sister's dog Bibi, True Blood, a good book
What's something you'd like to say to someone right now? "I'm glad I decided to come here so you could have some company and I had a good time"
What are you looking forward to? Going back to America for a month then starting my year+ with Andy
Say something to the person who tagged you: "I think it's really cool how similar our Ireland stories (but yours is a year ahead!) are and I'm keeping my fingers crossed about your job search-best of luck"

Jeeeeeez it is hot. I'm just sittin' here sweating. Just sitting, doing nothing. And sweating. I took like a 2-minute walk yesterday evening to pick up some pizza for the fam and despite spraying myself with mosquito repellent I got like 3 bug bites! Oh yes, I'd say I've quite had my fill of Naples. I've got a long list of things I want to do/take care of when I get back home. But I will sincerely miss the pizza; it's really somethin' else.
My friend Barbara from Spain is coming to NYC in a few weeks and wants to meet up. I definitely don't have the money for a trip up there though :'( I have to get my shit together during Aug, too. Hopefully she can come to Cork sometime, or Andy and I can pop over to Spain. It would be so great to see her. |

| | peaceful | ] | Naples is beautiful. I'm loving the gorg weather and the breeze. The STANK of burning trash needs to gtfo, though. Jesus. Everyone I talked to in Rome immediately brings up the trash problem here.
Also I'm currently watching He's Just Not That Into You and it's brill. And reading a good book. And season 2 of True Blood is slowing appearing online. I love summer

Andy is back in Ireland, he left this morning. Ahhhh.. it certainly doesn't get any easier, but what a fantastic 2 weeks! Rome was a blast. I was really proud of us navigating around Italy, especially since it was a first 'on our own' trip for both of us. He was so much fun to sight-see with, too. His sense of humor just kills me. Also, the lack of I love/miss you responses came up in conversation and he did admit he just wasn't comfortable saying it in texts/emails and he didn't realize how badly I needed to hear it back. It was good to be able to talk about it in person. Being apart has sucked, but I feel like we're closer each time we visit; it's lovely. So, I'm missing him a whole lot but I'm looking to be back in Cork for college in early Sept so an end is in sight. I also got to meet his favorite uncle, the priest who lives in Tanzania. He was in Rome the day we went back up (the day before Andy's morning flight) so we got to pop over to the church and have dinner. We also talked about getting a puppy in the distant future, lol, mostly because that is my latest dream I've been entertaining, and even indulged in discussing names. I always love any sort of future talk. We also both think a trip to Japan would be unreal but that, too, would be in the distant future.
Us on the island of Capri. One of my fave photos.

| | cheerful | ] | Oh my gosh, I'm so behind on updates on life. I graduated a week ago, I can't explain why but it just feel so flippin to cool to say I have a bachelors in computer science. And to think of myself as a college graduate. It's fab!
Then like 4 days later I'm a plane to Naples, Italy. It's still a bit surreal to actually be here, and I was a little freaked out at first to be surrounded by a language I don't understand. It's so pretty to listen to, though. We had an 8-hour layover in Munich and I have to say, I quickly grew very tired of hearing German being spoken. That's kinda rude, I know, but it's not very pleasant sounding. One of the neighbors has a little boy, and it's just the cutest thing to listen to tiny voices speaking another language or with an accent.
Andyboo is going to be coming to Rome in just 18 days. He saw Angels and Demons the other day and said he's really looking forward to seeing Rome since the movie took place there, lol. I'm pretty stoked too, I hope we manage the city and other tourists alright. I can't wait to see his little face everyday :') |

| | apathetic | ] | Well, I wish I had some more interesting stuff to post about...but I don't. Just doing the college thing, I have about 2.5 things to finish (all have been started) for handing in next week- last week of classes- so I'm just plodding along with that. Then it's 4 exams over Tues-Thurs the week after next. 2 are open notes though so that will be lovely. That's about it. Exciting stuff. |

| | happy | ] | I am beat, beat, beat. But this week, as busy as it was, has been really excellent despite that.
I finally get my 2nd and final recommendation letter mailed out!! Should be there next week. Also, my mom called the loan company people and they got my stuff, and sent whatever UCC needed, now we wait on UCC. Awesome!
I was just commenting on bebos and LJs and I always proofread before submitting but omg the amount of typos in these short blurbs to people was insane! Sluggish mind.
And greatest news of all, again I don't think it's really gotten to sink in....
ANDY BOUGHT HIS ITALY TICKET!! I will see my little pumpkin on June 4th --edit: Sorry, June 3rd. |

| [ | mood |
| | exhausted | ] | I should really consider giving up going to the gym on Tues & Thurs. I'm just so tired from 3 classes and working out doesn't help. But I really like it, and it's one of the few things I really like...enjoy about college. Plus the results, so I will just suck it up!
And we are in the final 5 week countdown for classes! Thank the lord. I have a lot of assignments lined up already to be done for the next week. It's maddening.
I don't know what it is, maybe just end of the week blues. Tired from this week, stressed about the week to come, missing Andy so terribly. But I just get SO sad around Wed/Thurs. I just got an email from him and I feel like bawling. Last week I watched Waking Ned Devine, came home to Skype messages from him, cried, went to bed. I chalked that up to hormones, though. Those little fuckers are crazy!! I just learned about them in Bio class, they are responsible for like...everything. And if they get fucked up, then so do you. And I was totes PMSing. But anyway, off track. I know I should keep my eye on the prize, all this will come to an end soon enough. But lordy, I wish it'd come sooner! |
